Default Any German speakers here?

I know a little, but am hardly fluent. I am trying to create new samples for SH3 but am having difficulty understanding a couple lines in Das Boot. Music is too loud to hear clearly!

When conducting the surface attack the 1WO is calling orders below. After flooding the tubes and before firing he gives another order which sounds like...

Rohr eins und zwo.....taktische?

Which means "tube one and two.....tactical?" which I assume is final confirmation that the tube is ready to fire.

Anyone confirm or correct this? I want to make sure I get the words right.

If I was on the dev team for this game I would have paid a LOT more attention to crew speech.

Mh, i cant remember words like that in Das Boot. I think he askes "Rohr I und II fertig(ready)?" which would be the most logical question in this situation

Default Confirmation - Bestaetigung!

:yep:
Although I don´t know which of the above phrases is the right one from the film, I can confirm both translations are correct.

B.t.w.: "zwo" is a slang word for "zwei", i. e. two.

Greetings from Germany!

on the surface-convoy-attack?

1WO: "neue lage 63"
"eingestellt... steht"
"lage laufend folgen!"
"deckung!"
Kaleun: "Rohr eins und zwei feuererlaubnis!" (permisson to fire 1&2)
1WO: "Rohr eins und zwei, fertig?" (1&2, ready?)
Rohr eins und zwo sind fertig!"
1WO: "Rohr 1, los!"
...

So the kaleun gives the permission to fire 1&2
and the WO asks down if the tubes are ready and fires in sequence...

neue Lage 63 = new bearing 63 (the targets bearing imho)
( if its your own course its more like "new facing...63°)
eingestellt...steht = adjusted or attuned....done (slang)
lage laufend folgen = follow the targets bearing
Deckung! = Take Cover !!
Rohr 1 & 2 Feuererlaubniss = permission to Fire 1 & 2 !
Rohr 1 &2 fertig = Tube 1 & 2 ready (loaded)
Rohr 1 los = Fire Tube 1 ! ( or Tube 1...GO)

Ooops sry -.-

PS: If u send a Report to BDU with the tonnage u have sunk, u get a replay with like " well done" right? The german "translation" is "Gut gepaukt"...thats total messed up.
"pauken" (the verb of gepaukt) is "learning for school"....dunno what u get in the english version...

"Gut gepaukt" is not messed up. It's in the style of "Operation Paukenschlag", the attack on the eastern coast of america. But it should be restricted to certain dates in 1942. I think it is not in the stock game it came with RUb, I think, or a radio mod.

Default Gepaukt

There´s a second meaning for the german word "pauken", not only "to learn for school".
Some german student organizations proove their skills in fencing according to strict rules, which in this context is called "pauken" (to fence). So "gut gepaukt" means "you made a good fencing match" ...

This is my favorite scene. I have the uncut original and although I've watched it a gazillion times, this sequence still makes my heart pump when the film gets to this point.
