Default I am not a happy bunny.

So here I am with a type 9 sub, renown of over 12000, every mod, addition you can imagine and what do they do?

They send me to a place "DB65" which I can reach and then not get home. I had to dive to use that batteries and then surface to charge them over and over again and I never got home.

Your thoughts please.

Thanks.

John.

With a type9, you should've been able to reach DB65 (off the coast of Florida) with no problems. Did you travel there on ahead 1/3? Don't forget to also check with your navigator about range at current speed. Try to get to your destination as efficiently as you can.

You might also want to try Harbor Traffic (I think it's 1.46) because it includes milk cows in the Atlantic, and they might help you out a little.

Hi there.

I used minimum throttle to get there and have only updated my SH3 to 1.43.

Would this problem be fixed by adding the next 2 updates?

Thanks for your input.

John.

Check with your navigation officer to find the most efficient speed to use. Sometimes slower is not always better.

I think you meant 1.3, right?

Anyways, it probably won't fix your range problem, but it's a good idea to patch up to 1.4b anyways. Most mods will only work with 1.4b.

Timetraveller has also made a few tweeking tools that are very simple to use. Essentially, you can change the range of the typeIX (or any other sub, for that matter) to anything you want.

His simplest one is the Depth Tool, which is used for changing or randomizing crush depths but can also be used to change u-boat ranges and such. You can get it here:
http://www.delraydepot.com/tt/SH3Cru...V2_build12.zip

Here are some of his other tools, which are more in depth. If you're into tweeking or personalizing your copy of SH3, these tools are highly recommended. Here is the link to all of his "tweek" mods:

Have fun!

Hi marhkimov.

Thank you very much for that, I will see what what I can do with the suggestions you made.

This is very much an aside but are you in the San Francsico area?

John

You're welcome!

I am across the bay from San Francisco, yes.

I am in a little city called Hayward, located between San Jose, Oakland, and Fremont.

Hi again Marhkimov.

This is going to sound very silly but here goes.

When I was I SF during the 1980's I had some of the best meals I ever had in a place that I think was called something like "Paper Tiger". They served the best prawns I have ever had in my life.

I have a friend who will soon coming to SF and I would like to direct her to this plac. Does it still exist? and where is it?

Thanks. (I know this has nothing to with SH3 but we are all part of the worldwide net)

John.

Hmm... I can't say that I visit SF very much. It's almost as foreign to me as it is to you... :rotfl: And I live about 20 minutes away...

But like you said, we are all part of the worldwide net. Check www.google.com
