Default Scapa's EMPTY?

It's April 1940. I spend all afternoon (Well, night, game time) getting into Scapa Flow. Got depth charged, hit a sub net once, twice, thrice, ran aground, peed my pants as I watched the sonarman report ships closing...

I got in the harbor. Where it says Scapa Flow on the map, in that little but, between the factories and the lighthouse.

There's no one. The only ship I've seen since I submerged off the coast of England was a frickin' FLOWER.

Where are the ships moored? East or west of the Scapa Flow mark?

Or did I just get in there during the wrong month?

I believe it varies from month to month, year to year, sometimes you'll be lucky, other times you won't. There are a couple of areas that are dead certs for ships, Loch Ewe I hear is good, but I don't know what month or year...mainly because SHIII won't run on this machine

I read this on another forum :

Just above Scapa on the map is a little cove, dodge in there first
and have a look around. Saves a lot of trouble if there's nothing in !

Someone here put up the dates of when there are task forces in all enemy ports resting. i think for scarpa flow it was nov 1940, or it might of been Nov 39.

According to that page, there should be two aux. cruisers in there, damnit.

Ah well, I guess I'll reload my save from before I sailed in completly, turn around and go where I'm supposed to...

I sunk a illustrious fleet carrier once at Scapa Flow. There was an aux. cruiser too, didn't sink that one though. Search 5-10km west of the harbor (I spotted some heavy destroyers at the same spot in 1939).

Ship sunk!
Grid AN 16
Illustrious Fleet Carrier, 23000 tons
Loch Ewe is a good harbor too, I sunk a Fiji destroyer there, last night. :P

Good hunting
