Default Depth under keel

I just picked up a copy of Silent Hunter III.

I've done other sub sims including Silent Hunter II and Aces of the Deep.

I can't seem to find the Depth Under Keel or Depth of the Water gauge anywhere here in Silent Hunter III. Could someone please tell me where it is? Are depths marked on charts somewhere? Are these things options I have turned off at the moment and if so how do I turn them on?

? ?

2 ways to get the info. One is to right click on the navigation officer, select reports, and select depth under keel.
The other way is to right click on the navigation officer to go to his station. The depth finder is a box on the wall at about eye level. Push the button and it will do a sounding that will be displayed on the dial. (It's a bit hard to read though with the low res texture)

There are no depths marked on the charts in SH3.

Also, might not want to be doing a DUK while your being hunted either. Kinda noisy and it will give away your position. I forgot about that once and it cost me my boat, sadly.

Ahhhh. Thank you.

I just found a little blurb on it in the manual. Not as good as your explanation though.
