I'm not even going to pretend that I am a modder or will ever become one. With that said, I do want to change the ammo type options for my deck gun to represent a 'historical' loadout.

I have the proper lines of code for the Basic.cfg that I have to change. Which I obtained from a thread somewhere around here. Now I need to know how to open up the Basic.cfg file. I tried this once using the notepad feature and somehow managed to destroy the game and had to reinstall it.

Is there a program out there that I can change these things or can someone give me a quick step by step tutorial (if quick is possible) to change the file.

I was thinking of tweaking the effectiveness of the shells as well (I got the idea off of the same thread). That would require changing the shells.zon file as well but that's not a real priority.

Or...... if someone has already done it and it works with RuB 1.45 an would be kind enough to share it...

all *.cfg files can easily be opened with Notepad messed around, fiddled and played with, and saved again.

how much ammo of every type do you want?

on my VII i currently have
200 HE,
100 AP and
10 SS

and i can change this value to anything i want.
same for the Flakguns AA ammo... or the `37s AP ammo

I si in the basic.cfg, pretty damn low on the list...
Give it a shot, you can do it.

but if it dont work, , get backk here, we will soon open the doors of modding to you, and make you realize that there is a lot of things to play with....
