Default 1280x800 , 1440x900 resolutions?

First of all, I hope this is not considered to be off topic but I have a question to all the notebook owners out there.

I am considering buying a new notebook, and they all have those exotic resolutions 1280*800, 1440*900 etc.

Who can tell me their impressions running SH3 with the Dx9 fix on those resolutions? Doesn't the picture get pretty much distorted??

I am happily running at 1920 x 1200 on a Dell XPS notebook.

Search The Community Manual for "display resolution".

About changing SH3 display resolution... I did this yesterday (to 1600x1200) for the first time, even I've been simming for many months now. But, I noticed this little problem right after I started the game. I'm unable to use station buttons F9 - F11 any more, even the F button for FLAK is out of the action (AI gunner works fine). Not that I ever use it to shoot anything but still. Could it be from the res change? The problem sounds weird but I did't do any other changes . Happened to anyone else and can it be fixed?

The game looks SO much better now and didn't loose that much frames either.

IF you had read the provided readme with the mod, those disabled funtion keys wouldn't be a surprise...

As a fix; well the mod makes PrintScreen button your screenshot maker.

Side Effects

Nothing serious has been reported so far. But there are a few minor hiccups:

* The DLL disables some of the function keys in-game (F9, F10, F11) and and CTRL or SHIFT key combinations associated with those function keys. So, for example, SH3's screenshot key combinations will not work when this resolution modification is installed. But, as mentioned above, the DLL provides its own multi-screenshot abilities.
So it seems... Stopped reading to "Multiple Screenshot Support" and missed this side effect warning...

Thank's Yskonyn

No worries, though a lot of posts on this forum are a bit uneccessary, if only people whould read or do some effort in finding things on the forum themselves this forum would be so much cleaner. Putting up topics for everything that comes into ones mind makes the search function quite tedious to use, plus otherwise relevant topics get pushed down the first page quite quickly. All in all not something that is very convenient for the forum users.

Anyway I didn't want to sound harsh and it certainly isn't something personal. No offense meant.

Heh, you are right about these irrelevant post like mine here. I should've try to find a reason more carefully, wich actually was so easy to find out from the community manual. Earlier, I just copy pasted only the upper part of the instructions and totally missed that side effect warning... The search function usually gives tons of topics to navigate and it becomes tedious like you said.

Anyway. Lessons learned and no offense taken
