Deck gun useage

Iâ€™m new to SH3. Just got it this week loaded it and added Real U-boat Mod 1.45 . While going through the Naval Academy Deck Gun training. It takes an extremely long time to reload the gun almost 5 + minutes simulator time. Also it takes a lot of hit to see any slowing or the targets. Is there a Mod to have faster reloads? I picked the men with the most experience, moral, and endurance for the gun crew.

Any help or ideas would be nice. Is there a listing of the best spots to hit on the different types of ship? I kept aiming for the water line, at the bow, stern, and amid ships
