Can the beta testers that first tested the original DW game talk about how long they beta tested the game before it was released?
Just curious as to how long that took. Might give me an idea about how long the current beta testing might last. I am looking forward to the next patch. I think it's 1.02 version that is due out after it's beta tested. I am hoping that it won't take more than a few weeks or maybe a month to conduct the beta testing on the upcoming 1.02 patch. I am new to DW and have not really spent much time on the game ...yet. I don't want to learn stuff that won't be applicable to the game after it's patched. So I am waiting for the patch to come out so that the game may be more polished before I start learning all it's nuiansances.

Honestly, I've heard of nothing in the 1.02 patch that really justifies waiting to play the game.
The two biggest issues in the game are the active sonar "bug" and the kilo click cheat. The first is dealt with reasonably well in our LWAMI Mod, although it's not perfect. All of the other "bugs" that people have been reporting forever are really gameplay or database issues that are most likely never going to be addressed by SCS officially. So download and install our Mod, and enjoy now. ![]() ![]() That's my best advice. ![]() Cheers, David PS You won't get a Beta tester to much about anything privaledged here. ![]()

The beta testing that involved people from Subsim ETC started around October 25, 2005 and DW went 'Gold' Jan 18, 2005. But that was a beta test of the entire game and not a patch...

As luftwolf said ne need to wait untill the patch comes out to start playing.
Go and get playing now so that when the retail version comes out you wont be stuck behind with all the "Newbie" players that might rush in to this genre once they see the Beautifull boxfront sitting on store fronts. ![]() |

I'm impatient too, not for playing, but for making more missions/campaigns.
I wont start one and then have to test it all for the possible changes of the patch. But I preffer to wait for a good work than having today an incomplete one ![]()
