Questions from newbie

Ahoy!

I like many threads. Especially good was the torpedo tips thread and the screen captures. For the newbie, the stock Torpedo tutorial mpeg leaves much to be desired (its actually about the periscope) and the manual organizes the some info 'questionably'.

Does anyone know how to eliminate the _red_ crosshairs from the _cannon_ view (non zoomed)?

In the top left corner of the screen there is a title telling you what room/area you entered, eg "command", "bridge" etc.

Does anyone know how to make that not happen while still leaving the "user interface" (at bottom) active?
