You can convert them with Goldwave!
Go on File -> Batch processing, then choose the patch etc. and convert them into MP3 (or wave, wave is possible too for the grammophone, but would be bull**** ;o)

SH3 can read ogg files

Actually, I pretty sure it prefers ogg's.

Yes - definitely use .ogg files if you can - for some reason the game sometimes has problems with mp3 files not playing all the way through (often get through about 20-30 seconds and then skips on to the next song), whereas the .ogg files seem to work fine.

ok I will drop the .ogg files in gramophone folder and give her a try.
I was using Goldwave program to convert .ogg files to wave and
have that done they came out PCM signed 16bit Stero 44100 freq.
I did not have the MP3 converter in Goldwave but I still have the .ogg
files I will drop them in I know that wrong sound files can cause CTD
Thank's Lane

If you want some period German songs, you might want to check out http://www.ingeb.org/WWII.html . Lots of them have MP3s. And which u-boat commander would be complete without knowing "Torpedo los", the "U-boot Lied", and most certainly, "das Engeland Lied"?

Not just German WWII songs, mind you, but most of them are.

Also getting tired of music-skips and dropouts with .wav and other music formats (under SH3 time-compression) I 'tried' to convert my music to .ogg format using some freeware program, but many conversions didn't work correctly.

Then I tried a freeware program called 'dBpowerAMP Music Converter' (recommended in this forum)

The program has the option to 'retain original properties' of your original music files. Converting to .ogg format then worked fine, converted everything properly. It's quite fast converting a batch of files too.

FYI, several months ago I had an exchange of correspondense with Ubi support, who contacted SH3's developers, about the MP3 skipping problems.

The developers response was to only use OGG files with the gramophone.
