Default Torpedo Loading

I'm playing a type 2 sub...and my torpedo tubes wont load. It's been 16 hours. The guys down in the torpedo bay must be drunk or something. Am i doing something wrong?

Are you rigged for silent running?

Do you have auto loading checked on the torpedo loading screen? Is your crew fatigued?

Make sure the green bar above the torpedo room is at least halfway across. Throw an officer in there if you need to. Hover the mouse cursor over the grayed out torpedo, and you should see a mm:ss countdown to when the tube will be loaded. If it just says "Torpedo waiting to be loaded", you don't have enough crew in there to load the torp.

A thought in addition to the other good suggestions...you DO have torps to be loaded, right?

Hit 'W' to make sure your torp doors are closed too

One last susgestion, and a mistake I always made when i first started..., you have to surface and then manually "tell" the weapons officer to bring the external torpedos inside the sub while the compartments are manned as stated above ...

I think Type IIs like the poster is using only have internal spares - but you make a good point about the other types - also, you have to first drag the external torps into one of the internal reserve slots, and then only after that process is finished can you then drag the torp into one of the actual firing tubes.

I've never experienced a torp not loading if I had enough crew and sufficient green bar in the compartment and was not on silent running, but IIRC there seem to have been some other threads about this issue, so maybe it is some sort of bug.

One other thought - I don't suppose maybe you sustained some damage to the torp room in a DC attack that screwed up your tubes by any chance?

Aha! I once had a torpedo that the crew didn't want to load. I thought it was a bug, but perhaps my tupe door was open. Next time I know what to check! Thanks.
