If this is the same one that was posted last week, I installed it and like it more than any of the others that I tested.

This one is a different sound... and it sounds great Mr. Clear

Just one thing though.... both of the new diesel sounds referred to are recorded at too high volume settings... This causes speaker feedback/warbling.

I'd love to use either diesel sound but cannot because of the feedback.

It is good to see you though Clear.

If you guys haven't tried out his Das Boot intro/ periscope interface movie for SH3 you are missing out on something AWESOME!!!

You can use the windows recorder that comes with XP to reduce the volume of the file and save it.

Terrapin's site and I think it's called "SH3_Mod_MenuBackgroundMovie_Complete"

It contains two versions, one colour version and one black/white. Just to choose and install. Very nice indeed

This one sounds a little better than last week's, I believe, but the sound volume thing is too bad - I have tried reducing the volume, but although that sort of works there is still a residual distortion left even at lower volumes that just doesn't sound quite right on my machine.

Looking forward to next week's version

You know, I think I have the only version of XP on the planet that does not offer windows recorder.
All I get when I go to Programs/Accessories/Entertainment is Real One player. I looked this up on the MS site awhile back and for some reason my version does not include it.
Anyone know where I can get it from?
Sorry, didn't mean to send this thread sideways.

The file you're looking for is (in a "normal" install) c:\windows\system32\sndrec32.exe - just make a shortcut to it and put it on your start menu or desktop or wherever and you should be all set.

Good luck and good hunting!

panthercules, thanks for the reply.
I am unable to find this file anywhere,
either thru the search function or start, run,c:\windows\system32\sndrec32.exe
Any ideas on how or where it might be found?
