Default Hospital ship mod ?

is historical realism so desperate that have Hospital ships to sink as well ? Which sick idiot wants to sink a hospital ship ? Am I alone here ? Which dickhead first thought of this ? I'm no troll - (e-mail supplied) ..but I think most people here are either 11 years old or a bunch of posers - with usernames like like of seen around it makes you wonder !

I love to sink the hospital ships!!! I just imagine that Maximal is on it when my torpedos impact into its hull. Ahhh, the screaming, the agony that those patients and nurses must be going through, just makes me wanna tear up to see and hear the sweet sound of terror in their voices! BURN hospital ship BURN!!! Muhahahha!

What I like about it is you (once you place it in the RND file) can not assume the troop transport is not a hospital ship so must make a careful ID. That adds a twist of ID-ing, an added dimension. You do realize there were Hospital ships and failing to ID one was a big deal.

Sorry, you feel that way (actually I am not, just being polite) but we will make sure no one puts a gun to you and forces you to add that to your SH3 install.

The rest of us will enjoy having them.

Wulfman, if I have the mission editor opened up, how do I add the hospital ship to the campaign? I have the mission editor opened up and I have selected the campaingRND layer and it opened up the map. Now what am I suppose to click on to add the hospital ship?

My RND mis file in the campaign folder is in notepad????

For the convoys, open the RND file, click, "edit", then click "find"
copy the Rnd Group 1 into the window and change the 1 to 61 (The convoys are 61-118). With the Rnd Group 61 in the window click "find next". This will take you to the first convoy.
Here is what a Hospital ship would look like:

[RndGroup 62.RndUnit 13]
Class=NHOS
Type=103
Origin=British
Side=0
CargoExt=-1
CargoInt=0
CfgDate=19390801
No=1
Escort=false
SpawnProbability=100
CrewRating=3

Except for the first line you could copy and paste this in place of any ship in any convoy and also to the single ships. Find those by putting 102 in the find window and click "find next". Replace the ones you want keeping the original first line as it is for the other ship being replaced and where you want an Anerican, change the British nationality.

I recommend you get Serg's additional merchants and edit them into the convoys. This drives you nuts because you can not tell them apart until you get under 1000 meters and that in the daytime.
You can add those to single ships and convoys by pasteing this:

Class=PTR
Type=103
Origin=British
Side=0
CargoExt=-1
CargoInt=0
CfgDate=19390801
No=1
Escort=false
SpawnProbability=50
CrewRating=3

Note, you can vary the probility from 10-100% as you choose for them spawning.
Just changing the 103 is not enough as the cargo load must be as above.

First what am I suppose to type in the 'Find' query?

Then I am suppose to change the 1 to a 61? huh? :hmm:


Let's start at the beginning.


I open the RND_campaign file with a text editor (such as notepad), then I am suppose to type in 'WHAT' into the 'FIND' query?

That will bring me down to someplace within the file I assume and that is where I will change the RndGroup 1 to a 61? Right? Then What?
