Since I didn't find much here about the German Radio Mod called "FunkMod" I decided to write a few words on it. Downloaded it a few days ago from terrapins site and I'm pretty happy with it so far.
It includes radio "chatter" between uboats and BdU including status reports of uboats, warning messages and orders by BdU, and other nice titbits. Since the previous version didn't work very well with the newest patch (duplicate messages etc.) I was pretty eager to test this new version and only stumbled over it at terrapins site. So far the whole Mod works like a charm. One example: In February 42 I received a message from an uboat off the U.S. coast that reported it had collided with another uboat on the surface, suffered damage and is returning to base. A few hours later I receive a similar message from the other boat saying that it could dive only to 50m and is requesting permission to return home. After a few days a fellow boat at the coast sends a message about enemy surface and air cover activity along the coast near Long Island. Pretty nice all in all. Gives you the feeling you're not alone anymore. Seeing boats in friendly ports with Rubinis excellent HT Mod makes the experience much more immersive, especially as soon as the Wolfpack Mod and the Milk Cow Mod are included. Overall: Highly recommended Get it here: http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/ Filename: FunkmodFINAL.zip |

@Avon Lady
Basically yes, but since I didn't try out the Radio Mod I have no comparison. As far as I know all messages in the German version are made by the author. So it's not simply a translation. |

A small tip: make a copy of the file "messages_de", paste it in the same folder and rename it to "messages_en". Then this mod will work with both english or german languages choosed
