Can anyone explain why the Optics mod when I've activated it doesn't change the display layout of the UZO and Periscope optics?

It probably doesn't change the "lay-out."
It may only "tone-down" bright textures for better night vision/usage... and may only remove crosshairs... depending on which mod you are using... There have been many optics mods. I hope that helps. |

Well according to Subsim and the screenshot link below, the Optics mod that's avaliable for download should make your periscope optics look like the screenshot below:

Make sure you put the TGA in the correct folder. It does not go into tthe normal TEX (texture) folder like most TGA mods do.
