Default Germany disavowing my crewmen to save on widows' pensions?

(I'm playing with the newest versions of RUb and Commander, in case it matters. I'm not sure if one of these is causing my problem, or if it's just a product of vanilla SH3.)

During my last patrol I finally took some casualties; my sonarman and radioman were slain in a brutal barrage of depth charges. It was sad but also an exciting and dramatic afternoon; the rest of the crew just ~barely~ saved the day.

Anyway, since we were a good week or so from home, we buried them at sea (which was probably my mistake, from a technical standpoint).

Much to my surprise, when we finally made it back home my "crew lost" totals (on the patrol summary sheet and such) were zero. It was like my two brave little communications specialists never existed. I have two fewer warrant officers than I started out with, but nowhere are their deaths noted.

I'm thinking if I would have brought them back home with me, their bodies would have been recognized by the game, but alas it's too late for that now.

Crew losses on my Commander career summary are listed at zero as well.

I'm trying to play as immersive a campaign as possible, and would like to get these crewmen's death into my career history. Is there some way to manually tweak the crew loss numbers in SHIII?

This is the sort of thing that would end up bugging me throughout my entire SHIII career, every time I see two less losses than there should be. Incidentally, is there some way I can avoid this happening again? I hadn't heard of a bug like this before, but should I not bury crewmen at sea or what?

Thanks for any help!

I just did a quick breakwall-ramming, crew-slaughtering test mission, but this time ended the mission with the bodies on board. And they were counted just fine; my suspicions that the bug is in the 'burial at sea' option have been confirmed.

Now all I need is a way to adjust crew losses in my career records; otherwise I'll just replay my last patrol (which would be too bad; it was a good one).

Find the relevant patrol in Patrols.cfg and change the SeamenDead, OffWounded or POWounded values accordingly. Repeat in Careers.cfg. Remember that entry 000 = patrol 1.

For completeness, you will also need to edit the relevant Crew_Career file and change the "HealthStatus" value of the individual "dead" crewmen to 2.

Lastly, update the appropriate Log_ file summary.

Again, remembering that (for example) Log_4.cfg and Crew_Career_40.cfg actually relate to patrol 5.

I haven't tried, but I would envisage that this would work.
