Until now, I have been playing SHIII with little problems. Occasionally I had ctd's (usually related to a reset of hardware accelaration to full accelaration after updating drivers of my Soundblaster Audigy NX). but now I'm in the middle of patrol 30 in my career and when hitting a (second) destroyer (part of a large convoy, mid '42) I get a CTD. Unfortunately the program logs doesn't provide a clue where the fault is as it's a crash of the main program:
"Faulting application sh3.exe, version 1.4.0.1, faulting module sh3sim.act, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0001c25a." Any help or suggestion to solve this is welcome.. I have saved the game just before torpedo impact. Everytime I reload... the program crashes ... |

Have you checked so your RAM are still working ? , try memtest to test your RAM.

Tested my memory with memtest... came up ok ... no faults what so ever...
Forgot to post: My rig Solteq qbic 3401 P4 2.8 1024 Mb Ram DDR 400 Hercules ATi AIW 9800SE (latest ati drivers) SN Audigy NX (latest drivers) DirectX version 9c Tried different overclocking settings, and default speed.... doesn't make any difference... In single mission it's no problem to sink two or three destroyers (almost at one time) |
