Default Synchronisation: A warning

This thread has been posted so that a search may locate it, should someone suffer what I have.

My computer uses dual core processors and dual graphic cards (SLI), also I am lucky enough to have a 20" screen set to 1600x1200. Last night I wondered if I switched on the synchronisation option it would improve the appearance of the game; I suspect the 1600x1200 setting of the screen is the reason for some of the jagged lines I get on the models.

After duely altering the options I discovered the game frooze once a mission or patrol was loaded. It also apparently corrupted a career file.

In the end I had to re-install the game, etc. Further experimentation today confirmed the cause. Once the synchronisation option was removed the game works fine.

I would spare you the hassle, or at least share a solution to problem.

Strange - I've been running with synch ON ever since March and as far as I can tell have never had any problems with it (certainly not like those noted above) with either my 6800GT or my X800XL. Certainly seems worth a shot disabling it though if you're having problems and seeing if it makes a difference - I've never really tried turning it off to see if I could tell the difference, but since it ain't broke (for me at least) I don't think I'll try "fixing" it just to satisfy that curiousity.

Yeah - could be - I haven't taken the dual proc/SLI-step yet - I'll let you bleeding-edge guys work out the kinks first (plus, gotta let the old wallet recover for a while from having to put this latest X800XL machine together when I wasn't really planning on it)
