I have been foreced to re-install SH3, which I have done successfully, but when I try to patch it I have a problem.
I am using the correct patch version, EMEA DVD. When it checks my system it comes up with the message that the de_help txt file is an unknown version, then, if I remove that it is the english version, and when that is removed it is the menu files, etc. I stopped there. From bitter experience I have learned not to waste my time with UBI soft support as i am still waiting for a reply to an issue I had 2 1/2 months ago. Has anyone got an idea how to overcome this issue? If not then I fear I will be joining the ranks of those who are retiring until/if SH4 comes out. Fingers crossed. |

Have you modded the game at all? If so, you will need a clean install.

Apart from uninstalling and re-installing, how else can I secure a clean install?
I have re-installed this several times this evening; twice since I came across this latest issue. |

Think I have got round the problem.
![]() I moved every text file from the menu folder and the patch (1.4b) apparently installed. Then I put 2 of them back as the 2 help files were replaced by copies from the patch. Prelimary tests show that it works. Now all I have to do is install the mods. Pity I lost the careers, but they were corrupted. ![]() Syxx Killer thanks for trying to help. ![]() ![]() |
