Default Easy Renoun?

I'm just to anxious to get my hands on a IXB!! So I'd like to give myself some much undeserved renown points...

I read the posts on altering the file main.cfg... there are two, one says to alter "the patrol files." Another says to alter a file career_0.cfg. Neither one of those posts lead me to mega-renown

Can anyone help? Or am I gonna have to wage an undersea war the old fashioned way?

Thanks

I'm in Feb 1943 and have over 60k of renown points
Changed subs IIA->VIIB->VIIC->IXB->IXC, always with the best gear available.
I'm playing 45% realism and always try to get the best possible position for ship attack. With the use of recognition manual's sweet spot aiming it's one shot-one kill most of the times. This earns renown like crazy, especially with the load of torpedoes of type IX.
And yes, I also use deck gun whenever I can, and sink small merchants with 3,7cm FLAK

EDIT: also buying crew for more than 0 renown is a waste. With good tonnages they go up like crazy

there is that way you can do it or you can go into you Basic.cfg and alter the renown point on everything you want to upgrade.but to answer you initial question look in you patrol file (last patrol will give you how much renown you got and re-edit it.

Default Doesn't have to be that easy...

Altering the patrol files hasn't gotten me anywhere... then I started to think... do I REALLY need unlimited diesel fuel? And how often has the enemy even detected me, even though I sprayed torpedoes all through-out the convoys.. why not have realistic damage?

Upped the realism, now I'm makin' some renown!

Now a new topic for my next problem!
