Default Contact and Patrol Reports Not Working

Hi guys, I have just exitied a patrol after beibg frustrated by my patrol and contact reprots not going through.
I initially sent a patrol report which appeared on my messages pad, then after spotting a small freighter I sent a contact report, message bar indicated message sent but when I went to the message pad, no message. I resent it, and a patrol report, still nothing, (yes I am on the surface). Prior to this my contact report pad was not showing the contacts, only the patrol report pad seems to be working.
Any ideas on this one ?
Thanks.

hi,

Contact reports only show up if the contact is a convoy - i don't think they is a message template for the pad for single ships.

My contact reports only work on convoys. I don`t know if that is how the game devs wanted it.

Default A serious question.

Just what do you GET out of reporting a convoy? Other than alerting the destroyers to your location...

I actually had the pleasure of locating one convoy ENTIRELY on my own the other day. During one of my occasional 30m sounding dives, I heard a very faint contact at the hydrophone that even my fairly well experienced sonarman didn't find, and turned to pursue. Turns out the contact got stronger, and broader, turning into a collection of ships! Convoy, heading west-east; I would have missed them entirely as I was about 10-15 km to the south heading west.

I was pretty psyched! Ended up taking out a troop transport, two T3s and a couple of C2s -- and two of the four escorts..the lead, by surprise, and the rearmost, which I must have blasted the props off of (engine sounds and smoke but no movement). I was a lot less psyched when I discovered that the milk cow mod doesn't let you get any of the medals or promotions from my doing this...unless I'm doing something wrong? I thought maybe I'd get them at the conclusion of that patrol's next leg, where I did almost as well cruising around west of Gibraltar, finding a bevy of individual C3s in bad weather..

I think that, if you report a convoy and you are near friendly airbase. They might send a friendly bomber to wreak havoc! Not sure tho.
