Default Something odd. Am i the only one?

Howdy all,
Did a quick search through the forum and didn't find anything so here it comes.

Since the latest patch (only sky mod installed this time) my sub behaves oddly once in a while by starting to make 360 degree circles once reaching the next waypoint. No damage and navigator was at station. Happened both surfaced and below in different missions. I'm a tad, if not yet totally, baffled.
Not frequent, but still irritating as I was on an a final intercepting course this evening and then my sub started going merry go round at the worst possible timing.

Anyone else experienced this?

Cheers

Normally that just happens when the waypoints are too close together.

The boats turning radius is larger than the distance to the next waypoint, therefore it is impossible to ever reach the next waypoint.

I had the same thing happen to me on my 10th or 11th patrol. No matter how far apart my waypoints were my sub would go in circles when reaching one. I solved it by erasing all waypoints and re-plotted (very long waypoints) my course back to base. It appears that that problem was related to the save file on that one patrol. I'm now on my 25th patrol and the problem has not returned.

Tks both for replies,
It was indeed something to do with a corrupt saved file as my waypoints were far apart. Deleted all, saved again and worked like a charm.

I didn't know about the circling sub if waypoints were too close to each other. Good to know!

Cheers

Wait until you have the first radar, circling becomes then necessary again

My sub sometimes stoped when reaching a waypoint. Dumb when on time acceleration especially, as you lose time.

re-plotting the course solves the problem though.

Your sub will also start circling crazily if you reach a waypoint while submerged more than 100m.

Does that mean waypoint are just "at the surface" (teh have a zero depth setting) and therefore can never be reached by the sub while deeper than 100 meters ?

Based on a few of my experiences and posts by a few other people, it seems that the answer to your question is "yes". Seems odd that it would work that way, though.
