I'm relatively new to SH3 and definately Rub 1.42, so I'm not sure if this question has been brought up before by others.
Traveling along I sometimes see these solid boxes. When I click on the box, it shows tells me it is a ship, the course it is on (SSE, NNW, etc) and speed (slow, medium, fast). However, on the plotting screen, I use the ruler and the distance is usually 25km+ away. My lookouts and hydrophones don't pick up anything. How am I picking up this contact on the plotting map if my lookouts can't even see it? Thanks. |

It's plotted via a simulated radio message from BDU based on spottings of enemy shipping from other units. Somtimes you get single ship reports and occasionally you'll get a report on a convoy.
