Ship Appearances

I'm sure this has already been asked, but I can't find it and don't really know what to search for to find pertinent results... but is it possible to change the frequency of how often ships appear in convoys or as single ships? i.e. cruisers out on random patrol or with a convoy? BBs on single-ship patrols just for the hell of it? :P

Yes, you can.

The RND.mis files and SCR.mis files opened in notepad are about 6MB of text info each.
But, a mistake, even a small one, can cause CTD and that much editing is unlikely without a mistake.
Jason developed a program that allows him to do so and not make mistakes. Minor mods to his might be your solution rather than opening a very big can ot worms.
