Default How does one remove things?

i am in the process of updating RFB 2.0 with some fixes and i found that the RFB Team partially added a ship that is generating errors. so the question is:

how do i use JSGME's update schema to remove a folder from a previous mod? by this i mean, the error-ship was added via RFB 2.0 and i am patching the RFB 2.0 Patch of April 2010. so how do i remove a folder from a mod preceding?

the question can also apply to files? how can i remove a file that was applied in a mod prior to the one i want to apply?

JSGME v2.6 UserGuide, page 17 "Note for modders" talks about the "-remove" directive. Powerful juju, but dangerous... tread carefully, and test on a throw-a-way installation.

had to re-download the 7Z file to get the users guide, which is probably on my desktop at my other location.

Hello Marco,

You cannot remove any folders with JSGME, files only - as far as I am aware.

If you are modifiying a mod, why not just remove the offending folder from the mod package, plus the roster files, and any campaign and mission files would need updating, if they contain data from the deleted ship.

Or else, fix the ship, what errors are you seeing, what ship is it ?

y'know, i thought of using both of your suggestions, just to let you know that great minds think alike.

removing the folder would mean that i would have to modify the RFB 2.0 mod and then upload with notes to use the one i u/l rather than the first one. i am sure that that will confuse no one.

i would love to fix the ship but the only files are a dat, a sim, and a zon in the Sea folder. Nothing in Roster. No notes.

so, there are two reasonable solutions: a. leave things as there are and hope that it does not cause a mysterious CTD in the future. or 2. remove the files which makes the empty folder useless.

i've always wondered about solution #2 because i have come across similar situations in the past where it was more expeditious to just use a mod and get rid of the files, so i asked the forum, and PB (and you) directed me to that solution in JSGME.
