Well, I did it lol. I purchased new desktop (great monitor as well) for my home, primarily to run SH 4, maybe few other modern titles I am interested in but mainly SH 4.
For a long time I've kept two desktops at home, one specifically dedicated to gaming, primarily for SH 4. While older with upgrades, it ran great but upon my return to SH4 as of late, noticed it was showing it's age and with advances such as fully rendered interiors and all other great advances, decided it was time. Found a great deal, well beyond the specs needed to operate the "heaviest" mods and SH 4. One concern is Windows 11, but SH 4 install went just fine, going to test soon and see how it operates. Any advice? Game is not installed in Program files, of course. Running a Disk version of SH 1.5 (not steam, i've held on to the disk all these years) . Compatibility mode necessary? When I ran it on my other PC, caused weird issues with SH and TMO Update such as torpedoes performing perfectly, sonar not working perfectly. Out of compat mode, worker fine. |
