Default Just bought this - now if only I could play it :-)

Well, I just bought this on Steam and am looking forward to playing it.

Unfortunately, my main PC is down - the Gigabyte Auros X MB blew.
I'm sending the MB in to but and I'm keeping my fingers crossed it won't be out of action too long.
In the meantime, I'm forced to use my NAS PC as a backup (i3 10300 on a H510 MB, 32GB ram, GTX 950
I'm guessing the system can't handle the game as it crashed first time out. I suppose my Samsung Neo G9 57" may be a bit much for it.
Can anyone tell me, before I start opening up computers, if I put my RTX 4080 Super in the NAS is there a chance the game won't crash?

In the meantime everyone, happy hunting.

Default always lurking, ready to strike!

To be honest, I was never a fan of SHIV/V, so I just kept playing III with mods.

I'm not a gamer - subsims are basically the only thing I've played in the last 20 years, and that only irregularly.

In the meantime, I've been lurking on the bottom, coming up for air, a quick periscope peek, and the opportune attack!

I have a GTX 980 and the game runs fine. Maybe not at max graphics settings, but it still runs fine.

I think putting in the other graphics card MIGHT solve your issue. However, you aren't going to get the performance that you are used to with it. Clearly you are going to have serious, serious cpu bottle neck issues. Getting the card to run shouldn't really be too much of a problem, UNINSTALL your current drivers and then INSTALL THE NEW GRAPHICS CARD DRIVERS, which is always best practice with such things.

Also, I hope you enjoy Uboat. It is a bit more "lively" than SH3 with its flood mechanics and each crew member being an actual person on the boat. I would check out the work shop for some mods, just ensure that people idicate that they run on the new version since the game is in active development.

The game needs a decent rig, but not top of the line. My rig: Ryzen 7 5800x3D, RTX 3070 ti, 32GB DDR4.

I can run the game at max graphics and get 150+ fps inside the sub and 120+ fps on top. This is at 2560x1080 with a 144hz refresh rate. I get higher FPS in UBOAT than in WOLFPACK.

UBOAT is a very beautiful game. I spend half my time just walking around the sub and watching my crew at work...
