Thanks
I knew the Rubis had quite a history behind her and that's why the Rubis class SNA was named as such in her honor, but what I found real interesting is that one of the Suffren will be called Rubis which is great ! I would like to see the wreck of Rubis some day but will have to get my diving stuff sorted and get qualified it will be interesting to see her, shame they didn't save her as a museum though. I have to say too that the way France went about is Force de dissuasion was very good and going it independently too, I honestly think that was the best way forward for France and wish the UK had gone that way as well instead of the easy option of Polaris & Trident. I have been to Cite De La Mer in Cherbourg and been on Redoutable a fantastic museum and the fact France is the only country to have saved a SSBN type is phenomenal even the US have not done this.
