1.4 patch error

I am trying to install the 1.4 patch on a dvd version of sh3 on my windows 7 computer.

I receive an error message that says

Silent Hunter III US DVD v1.0 to v1.3 Update Program
This program cannot update the installed version of Silent Hunter II US DVD vi.0 to v1.3 because of the following reason:
F: Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft SilentHunterIII MissionEngine.dIl: unknown version.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled it in the Program Files and the (x86) folder. I received the same message. Does anyone have an idea of what is wrong?

The Pride Runs Deep We Look After Our Own

Your SH3 maybe already patched to 1.4 and trying to add the 1.4 patch to a SH3 install thats already patched that maybe why your getting that error message also i would'nt install SH3 in program/files x86 it will mess up your campaign saves due to windows security thinking SH3 is a virus reading and writing to your SH3 career save folder in your documents.

heres a screenie of my SH3 sh3 exe already patched to 1.4 to check yours just move your mouse over the SH3.exe if same as the one in the picture below your good to go Sir.

From memory, you're possibly applying the wrong patch.

There are a few different versions of the patch (CD version, Digital version, US, EUROPE etc. and combinations thereof).

I know I had the same problem with mine too.
