issue installing HSIE V16B1 patch

Hi everyone,

I am getting this error message in the Cmd window when clicking to install the Patch batch file:

Found compatible version sh3.exe (STD)

Making backup sh3.old

Access is denied.

Patching....

C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII>.\tool\xdelta3.exe -d -s sh3.old .\tool\V16B1_STD sh3.exe
xdelta3: file open failed: read: sh3.old: The system cannot find the file specified.

Exit.

Press any key to continue . . .

Any ideas? I'm running the DVD 1.4.01 version on Windows 10 Pro. I've tried running in admin and clicking full control is selected in permissions.

is it because the DVD version I have is already version 1.4?

I'm unsure if HSIEs patch was made to update version 1.0.1 to 1.4?

What mods are you using along the Hsie patch?

It's most likely your install path. Don't install SH3 (or most any other game) in the default Program files path.

Make an install directly on the hard drive of your choice. I.e., c:\SH3 or similar.

re-installed to C:/SH3.

Patched installed. I'm sure I will be back with other issues
