Greetings Kaleuns,
I recently picked up SH3 again, and have been running GWX with the 4GB memory patch. Enjoying the early years of my career in 2nd Flotilla. However, recently received negative renown (-1300) for the first time I think ever in this game after patrol 3. Patrol went like this: Wilhelmshaven>North Sea>Deck Gun 3 different British ships in daylight>head to patrol grid BF16>leave after 24 hrs>head to grid AK>find convoy>first contact at dusk>escorts are british>I see the union jack and ensign of Royal Navy plain as day>attack multiple times in one night>convoy is blacked out>sink 3>out of fish>head to Belchen supply ship>57k total tonnage for patrol>-1300 renown Now, my research shows that I must have torpedoed at least 1 neutral ship in order to receive negative renown, probably an American in the convoy. My question is, is there any place I can see which ships were neutral? I don't see it in the log.cfg but I'm not at home base so I can't access the in-game log. I'm awfully confused, any help would be appreciated. Last edited by theworldover; 07-27-23 at 11:15 AM. |

1. GWX-Manual: "Manual_V3.0_Final.pdf" page 74 under "Grey ship icons" 2. GWX-Manual: "Manual_V3.0_Final.pdf" page D-4 under "Identify the Target" "Use the Flaggen if necessary to identify the target‘s nationality" Please, use these methods _Before_ you risk an international conflict in-game. Otherwise you may be degraded and/or at best go to jail. LOL Be aware that you may be taken as a Pirate for 24 houres. Also when youre Renown will drop below -5000 your Campaign may over for now. I have never seen LOGs of Sinkings in MyDocuments with its country listed. Also in SH3 a blacked convoi does not mean any ship in can be a legal target. If you are not willing to identify your targets i recommend reverse the GWX-Nav-map.icon.colors back to its originals. Just to be shure. Geetings. Quote:

An addition.
If you like to reverse the NavMap-ContactColors you may use "GWX-Contact_color.7z" from jimbuna also available from SUBSIM here: https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/dow...?do=file&id=33 HTH |

IIRC correctly, in WWII : any merchant ship in an allied convoy was a legitimate target, even if wearing neutral marks or flag... At least, it was the case in most situations.
So, you just have to force the game to give you as many renown points for neutral ships as it gives you for enemy ships SilentHunterIII > data > Cfg > Basic.cfg : under [RENOWN], change NEUTRAL=-1 to NEUTRAL=1 It's better to change this file after you have returned to base and made a savegame here. |
