Hi guys
![]() I was going to post this in the UBOAT mods sub-forum but it seems to be redundant now? I don't know how much interest there is in this game with subsim.com regulars, but I thought maybe one or two folks here might be interested to see a couple of new and updated mods I've released/co-released recently: REALISTIC UNIFORMS Changes your crew's uniform jackets, pants and caps to use more realistic and historically accurate colours and textures. For more images and information, see: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil...?id=2814772283 EMBLEMS EXPANDED The mod's creator, Link, initially created this project by building a script to grab all the emblems published on Uboat.net (with permission) and upscaling the images with an algorithm. He also created a neat way to make them available in the game as conning tower upgrades. The results were decent but didn't always look so great when rendered in the game. He invited me to join the project to manually fix some of the graphic issues caused by the upscaling issues. Things progressed rapidly from there... I started re-drawing many of the simpler emblems from scratch and adding weathering effects, then moved onto more demanding ones which required hours of research and digital painting. So far, I've completed around 180 emblems over the last 8 months, replacing more than half of Link's upscaled uboat.net graphics with enhanced versions, and adding many more that aren't featured on uboat.net. I try to make each one historically accurate as far as I can, based on the photos and other reference materials I've found - and bearing in mind that we're deliberately bending historical accuracy for the sake of maximum player choice by providing emblems used on various U-boat types, even though the game currently only has a Type VIIC (something which I'm sure will change in future). For more images and information, see: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil...?id=2610703637 Also, you may be interested to check out my U-boat emblems gallery website, which has 3D renders of my emblem artwork: https://jimgraphics.wixsite.com/uboat |
