Uboat anecdotes/ curious stories?

Hi,

After reading "Iron Coffins"(great read) I found there were some interesting aspects I had never heard of. Not that I´m an expert, but it surprised me to read about the snorkle malfunction, and the effect it had on the crew.

It came to me there might be a lot of similar situations that don´t usually come out, be it because of technology such as the one I mentioned, or because of weird crew members, or just funny coincidences.

As I know this forum is full of experts I thought about asking here.
