SH4 steam version, file not found error
Hello all,
I'm looking to coming back to SH4. So, I couldn't find my SH4 dvd, so purchased the Steam version of the game, installed it and tried to run it. I keep getting an error popup window where it says 'File not found.' Anyone else experienced the same issue, and what could be the solution? Thanks

Do yourself a favour and read the steam threads in the link below, it might have the answer to your problem, and then again it might not.

Usually speaking, if you are receiving a file not found error, such as for "Black_80.tga, that points to an attempt to mod a v1.3 of the Steam game with a mod for v1.5 of the game. Be sure you use the "U-Boat Missions AddOn" from Steam for the mod, and run that version of the game instead.

What propbeanie said... sounds like the error you got was a black80.tga not found...
Steam has 2 different versions of SH4 on their site... 1 is the original SH4, tagged as v1.4 Then there is the other, which adds to it operating uboats in the Pacific as basically a DLC, if you will. Ubisoft's last release of it, (which on their end of things (Ubisoft) they call it SH4 Gold Edition... & the last I know of, they got rid of any access to the v1.4 one...) This version is tagged as: v1.5 Still some mods about that use 1.4, but most of the main mods for SH4, now call for v1.5 Hope this info helps... M. M.
