Not sure if these have been posted before, USS Albacore in Portsmouth, N.H. and USS Blueback in Portland, Or. I got a kick out of the small differences between the Barbel and the Blueback.
Barbel didn't have the stabs on the stern planes (first time I've seen them) because we had a STASS tube for an early towed array.
On the Blueback, he didn't spot them but there were bunks well above the torpedoes that were the most requested racks for the enlisted (non-chief) sailors. Imagine a rack with 8-10 feet of head room. We called them E-6 berthing on the Barbel.
