Default Enable "detection circle" and "search area" from crew

Hi,

I'm new to the WoS mod and have a few questions:

1. In vanilla SH5, enemy ships had a, what I call, "detection circle". By that I mean the dark circle that is around a ship and when driven into, your submarine will be detected. In the WoS mod, this circle is gone and because I'm not a pro in this game, I want to reenable this but cant find to option in the map settings to to it, can somebody help me?

2. In the map settings, there's the option to show the area which my hydrophone, the spotters on top of the submarine and the radio operator are searching for other ships. If I enable this option, nothing changes on the map. Is this a bug or am I just to stupid to activate this correctly?

I hope that somebody can help me and please excuse these dumb questions but I really don't have much expierence in this mod.

Greetings

The map options you're talking about refer to the enemy ship, ie their detection, not yours. Try using them with a warship in range and you'll see the orange and red areas. Visual range is a grey circle. Check it and it should work.

I'm new too and figuring this all out.

Good luck!

You can go in the OFEV (Option File Editor Viewer) to switch on detection cones (orange) for enemy ships if you want an easier game. Also tons of other changes to make the game easier. Veko, the mod author, should provide some pre-defined OFEV files and other optional mods to load for different difficulty levels, but he is busy with other things to improve his mod I guess.
