Default Old member returning question.

I left SH for a long time and went flight simming, I re-installed my SH3 from disk, I installed the GWX3 Full Mod plus the Grey Wolves.

I tried one of the single missions, I sank a Battleship and damaged another but had to dive for cover.
I got hounded by a few DD's they all left except for one who circled and dropped DC after DC, I was engines off and very deep, I took a bit of damage but still OK.
I waited it out for a long time, eventually it left so I surfaced, I on the surface for about 10 seconds and got sank by an aircraft, just my luck lol.

I know this is cheating but is there a super sub available for SH3 or a mod just till I get the hang of things again?

I noticed the diving and surfacing seemed to take a long time too, I'm sure it was quicker than that last time I used SH, or is that part of the GWX?

Col.

Welcome back home

Why not just tick the invulnerability box in options, just for the time you get the hang of things?

As for the surfacing/diving times, each mega mod such as GWX has its own values. You can always alter them, but might break other things...and not that easy to tweak.

OK thanks, I must have missed that, I was just on a mission now, found the convoy but got 3 DD's circling me, had to dive, I was getting damage from DC's and in the meantime the convoy was passing by grrr!

HA HA, thanks for the tip, I will have a look.

Hey Col7777, glad to see you back around again.
I was thinking about you and CB a week or so ago and the work done with SH2 and SH3. You guys were great to work with.

Did not mean to hijack this. Anyway, welcome back.

Good hunting,
FUBAR295

Ha Ha, hello again my friend, nice to see you too, I hope you are keeping well.

As you will have read I went on Flight sim, got in to paining aircraft liveries, plus messing about with AI, I still like to tweak the files lol.

I have other versions of SH in a box, some I wasn't too keen on to be honest, but it might be my age, I'm almost 74 now.

@Fifi,

When you say tick the invulnerability box in options, do you mean when going to select a mission there is Easy, Normal, etc, I went in Easy but the vulnerability box says it will make the sub easier to sink, if I read it right?

Or should I be looking somewhere else?

Just before launching career patrol, you have a box for realism, click it, and find vulnerability box (from memory on the left side column)

Sorry to be a pain but when I tick that box it says 'Damage taken by the submarine will be more severe.'

i thought SH3 had an invulnerability option for the sub...but i never used those options myself, always all boxes ticked (well almost) so I’m doubting now...
