Hello,
getting back into SH after a long break, which started somewhere before SHIV. I'm jumping into the deep end with TWoS and Real Nav from the start, having some nav experience beforehand. Of course I want to do my own celestial navigation. However I'm having issues with the included sextant. I go through the procedure navigator, sextant, find heavenly body in scope, enable sextant, click the button on top of the dialog, use the thin line to measure the lower limb of the sun or any other heavenly body, read altitude in dialog box. However, I'm not getting consistant altitude readings. They vary with, as I perceive, the pitching and rolling of the boat in the swells. Am I doing something wrong? I've been trying to find documentation to put me on the right track but haven't really found anything. Regards, /Fred |
