Default Have some of our history been derailed ?

Have some of our history been derailed ?

This is what I said to myself some weeks ago.

Was watching an episode of Blowing Up History and in this episode, which was about Titanic, the host said

- "Despite several dive to the wreck, they haven't found any hole

I thought what !? Titanic hit the iceberg and ripped a huge hole in the right or was it on the left side

Have this terrible story been derailed somehow ? If it's true what is the correct truth about Titanic's sinking and when did this iceberg came into the story.

Another story on where history could have been derailed.

It takes it start back in the 90's where I was subscriber of a science magazine. In one of the article, which was translated from English and originally had been published in the Lancet or was it the Medical Journal...
Some expert and professors in epidemiologist was questioning this Plaque which had hit Europe in the Middle age.

Didn't think so much about then..until 2-3 years ago, when I saw a English documentary in three parts on Danish tv...here same type of people was putting question on this Plaque.

So therefore I ask
Have some of our history been derailed and are there more of our hard fact history who aren't exactly correct ?

Rumours hold it that she was hit by a torpedo and they covered the story up. Others say that the USS Eldridge rematerialised right in her flank and was so scared of the Titanic being there that it just did an immediate scare escape manouver nd jumped away and back into the time-space-continuum again.

In modern times a new theory has emerged, that special agent Scully, when she was abducted by that smoking alien, during an escape attempt by fault jumped into a an alien time tunnel machine aboard their UFO and ended up below the keel of the Titanic. When she realised her mistake she slammed her head repeatedly against the Titanic's wall in despair, then the aliens found her and brought her back, but then it was already too late and the damage done.

My neighbour yesterday told me that it was sunk my Donald Trump, because although the ship was titanic, it was not his, and he could not stand that somebody else had such a big ship but him not, and so decided that then also nobody else shall have it.

I did not know that the science of physics and the joy of Chianti goes so well together, until this evening, I tell you. Chianti really helps to understand quantum physics (its not that difficult at all, I have to say) and I also know now what happened to Heisenberg's cat. It starts already with that it was no cat, it was a squirrel, and the squirrel was not placed inside a box, but onto a tree. And there you have it: its no difficult thing at all and couldnt you have solved it yourself? I mean, what idiot does it need to put a cat into a box? C'mon, you know that that claim could not have been true, never. Smart little critters, these squirrels. You put them into a hot pan, and they immediately jump out. Clever little things. But I did not know until recently that they experiment with quantum pyhsics, I admit that was new to me. And ask yourself couldn't the hole in the Titanic have been bitten by - squirrels? Maybe they wanted some ice on their nuts. And they have expertise in physics, as I told you, they know where to bite a floating can to open it quickly.

Or the engine of the ship in the ears of a whale sounded like this old song "Kiss me Kate", and Mrs Whale swam along and heard it and took it literally. A good kiss can knock you off your feet, we all know that, and if you do not know it, then you have never sailed the Titanic, at night, moon above...

Ah, the Titanic. Everbody should have one.

Not sure what they are on about, but no, the Iceberg did not carve a hole in the hull. That was known even at the time of the sinking. What the Iceberg did is shear rivets fron the hull plates which allowed water to flow unchecked between the plates into the first 5 compartments. From a cursory outside examinations from a submersible, it could easily appear that the hull was undamaged.

Because in the grand scheme of life, it's not that important anymore. That, or you're getting old and senile.

I always had a problem with those North Vietnam PT boats attacking the USN destroyer ... for years I thought it was just radar sea return, but I guess it was real.

https://www.militarytimes.com/vetera...ssed-the-mark/

Quote:
At approximately 3:05 p.m. on August 2, 1964, USS Maddox fired three warning shots at three North Vietnamese P-4 patrol torpedo boats approaching the destroyer at high speed. Over the next 20 minutes, the Maddox fired more than 280 5-inch and 3-inch rounds at the fast-moving and evasively maneuvering PT boats. Two of the boats fired their 14.5 mm machine guns and released their torpedoes at the destroyer. One 14.5 mm round hit the Maddox’s bridge wing but both torpedoes missed. The North Vietnamese crews had launched them from too far away.

All three PT boats were damaged by the follow-on airstrike in support of the Maddox. That attack was a factor in Congress’ Aug. 7 Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, which enabled President Lyndon B. Johnson to take military action against North Vietnam.

So the Military Times of 2019 lies about something that has been debunked in the 1980ies.

lalala nothing to see here. I will gladly take the Chianti.

Keep drinking your wine

I was just trying to make Markus feel better that I too had had problems with history. I used the latest article from military times to prove that our mind can play tricks on us.

You guys need to get a life instead of picking on us innocent members

Picking on you? I was joking! But okay, two nights ago I was slightly tipsy, and I'm German, so... Lets see what we have.
