Renown and Promotion Points

For the last three days real time, I have been having problems with saves in the Med Campaign 1942 that I think might be linked to some crazy aircraft, so I want to move one. I am fed up with loading my good save, wasting hours, scoring high and then escaping and doing everything to ensure a good save with no luck.

I want to return to base and start a new patrol but I figure I want some Renown and Promotion points for 3 days of real time hell.

I am guessing I have to edit a UPC or cfg file to change my current Renown and Promotion points. Could someone points me in their direction please as I have hunted and hunted with no luck.
