Good day,
I know it's seen as "unrealistic" and I know that TWOS includes the Disabled Unrealistic Commands_ini files, but how can I reactivate the ping function in the game? I don't care if it is useful or not, I just think that since it was a function the real ships had, I want to have it, too. Is there a way to reactivate it? I haven't seen any mods that do this and I don't really understand where the changes have been made to deactivate that function. Would be nice if someone could help me with that. Thanks. ![]() |

If you are talking about active sonar:
German Uboats did not have any during the entire war, exeption a few experimental ones, but those also where quickly stripped of it again since it would reveal the position of the Uboat if used. It is not in the game and you would have to mod it, i don't think there is an existing one. If your talking anout the "Get Ocean Depth" one, i can't recall the name atm, you can still do it, you can ask your Navigator IIRC about the depth under keel or use the button on the bottom left of the screen, both will send a ping straight down and get the depth this way, but this also reveals your position to the enemy, but i don't know if it is the game. |

Vecko has rightly decided to remove from its megamod the interface for activating this feature. Re-enabling it, shouldn't be too complicated if one compares New UI's files with the ones of TWoS, but personally that's not something that I would bother with. |
