Do Electric TP's work in early war ?
I have shot several Electric TP's in both MAG and Contact and have only had 1 actually work. I have been hitting at 90 angles and have been from .5 to 1.0 meter below on the Mag setting..... AP514 |

Electric torpedos are said to be less reliable early in the war compared to Steam torpedos which have visible bubbles and are faster.
Make the torpedo run at the right depth depending on the ship, or it will miss easily. Check the depth under keel of the target in the ID Book, and set the torpedo a bit less than half of that value, for example with a liberty freighter of 7000 tons, the DuK is 8.2 meters. Set the torpedo depth to 3.2-4.0, but not below that. Steam torpedos can be set at lower values and can also be set to run fast, but don't use Magnetic impact, it fails often early in the war. |
