The last couple of month I have seen some historical documentary about Hitler or related to Hitler.
Some days ago when I saw a rerun of Hitler's the post war plan I suddenly came to think of this Nürnberg Trial.....What if the Allied had caught Hitler alive What would be the most righteousness verdict ? Markus |

So I guess then you mean what would be the most righteous sentence? Hanging, without a doubt... with piano wire, like he was so fond of doing to others

This was my thoughts too.
I have also tried to think of what would happen in the German Society among the ordinary Germans and among the elite in Germany if the verdict was life in prison. While doing this I tried to recall everything I have read and heard about Germany and the Germans during Hitlers regime. Markus |

Churchill wanted to have Hitler electrocuted in the USA or so i read.
No doubt there would have been a death penalty. @Aktung ![]() I still have that vision of all of them sitting in hell, in a big boiling cauldron, while throwing insults at each other.

Death by hanging would have been the most likely outcome as it was for his henchmen.
I was surprised Emperor Hirohito was spared his life but that is a separate can of worms. |

I'm not sure but if they killed Emperor Hirohito the whole country was going to mass suicide or something like that!!
![]() Hitler would have to be the nastiest piece of crap to be called a human being, he was a traitor to his own country, wouldn't give up till it was totally flattened. It was a beautiful country with a lot of history, it might be getting back on its feet but a lot of history gone forever, very sad. ![]()

(1) the allies would have never in a million years captured him alive no matter how many chances they got to "play the timeline" over and over again.
(2) in the extremely unlikely event that they did capture him alive, much like Goering, he would have killed himself before sentencing... hung himself with his pants or a belt or something. (3) if #2 didn't happen, it would have been the Russians who captured him anyway, not the British, Americans, Canadians etc. In that case the chances that he would have made it to the Nuremberg trial are slim. The Reds would have marched their trophy captive all the way back to Moscow, may or may not then provide him with a circus trial lasting all of ten minutes, and would have made a real show of his public hanging.

I agree with the other posters.
1. He would not be taken alive 2. The other Germans with him would not allow him to be taken alive 3. We would not take him alive 4. If for some chance he was, he would die in captivity, probably trying to escape or slipping on a piece of soap. These accidents would occur after a prolonged interrogation away from prying eyes.
