Iceland/Faroe task force issue

Never had this assignment before. A red x shows I have to intercept and engage a task force between Iceland and Faroes. The enigma states this but no radius or how long to patrol. I went there, but not a single ship sound for over 24 hours. Anyone have experience or can give a hint? How long or radius? I placed a 200km compass to be safe, had the auto search pattern on, which I think was a mistake, and nothing!

By the way it is January 1940, I have TWoS if that helps!

I also never completed these (intercept) missions.

Yes no radius area for this one. Just zigzagging between Iceland and Faroes.
Usually nothing to be seen, but once i found a merchant...
When in other missions, you can see sometimes Task forces used to travel this area though.
