Silent Hunter 5 has suddenly stopped working

I have been playing Silent Hunter 5 for a while now,my last time was 23/01/2019 with no issues.
Today (24/01/2019) I tried to play it and it keeps shutting down.

Thinking that I had done something I uninstalled the game,re-installed it,same problem.

Not being one to leave a challange, I completely uninstalled Silent Hunter 5, Ubisoft,Ubiplay( the UplayInstaller) also uninstalled Steam until there was no trace of Silent Hunter 5 or any associated programs left on my laptop.

Next I re-installed everything thinking that that would cure any problems,.....................no such luck.

Has anybody else came across this? If you have,what was the cure for it?

Hi CA
Sounds like you might have had a Microsoft update.
You should be able to check that your STEAM download is in its correct place.
I am led to believe that the STEAM download comes already updated to v1.2.
You should be able to start a Stock game but first make sure your SH5.exe is setup as an administrator.

Check that your GPU is setup correctly.
