Das Boot Sound Mod problems

Hi,

i want to try SH5 after years again and installed it with the newest TWoS. After that i installed the "Boot Sound Mod 1.05" from Winkelmander (with SH3 i had the version from Sailor Steve) with JSGME.
The strange thing: For example when i order "blow ballast", I hear now 2 voices (from "Das Boot" and the normal voice, one after the other). And indeed, when i play the file directly (in this case "MC_CR_CHIEF_29.ogg"), there are both voices in it!
I dont understand this, am i doing something wrong? Of course i want to hear only the one voice from the movie...The old version for SH3 worked perfect for me.

Welcome aboard Badileus!

First of all: TWoS is not totally compatible (or not compatible at all) with any mod except the addons included in it.

Second, i f you like Stormy´s DBSM mod, you need to delete from it the SH.sdl file. You must to use the original SH.sdl file included in TWoS., not overwrite it! Delete the SH.sdl file from Stormy´s....\Data\Sound folder, and then activate the mod and the updates with JSGME.

BTW, DBSM for SH5 by Stormy´s isn´t too different from the sounds included in TWoS. You will not gain very much replacing the TWoS sounds with those of Stormy´s DBSM.

I agree with fitz regarding the differences between TWoS and DBSM Speech.
The path is is the same for both > data\Sound\Speech
I assume any individual speech files from DBSM could replace those in TWoS if you found any that were different.
What you currently have is a duplication of the same orders that you are noticing as and when they are spoken.

What i wouldt gain in using the mod is replacing the normal voices with the ones from the movie. All the other sounds and music of TWoS are OK.
Perhaps i can replace some voice-files with files from the mod för SH3 (Sailor Steve), because they have only one voice in it.

Make a copy of the files being removed so at least you have a backup plan if things do not work out.
