Question Pacific Aces

Does anybody know how the radar works in SH2 Pacific Aces , I have been trying to replay Sealion versus the Kongo mission but nothing is coming up on Radar so I never spot them but when I play this in Silent Hunter Commanders Edition the ships show up on radar at roughly the historic distance .
So I am asking does the Radar work correctly in Pacific aces ?

I think your best shot is looking at the navigation map, as the contact should be displayed there.
