Default Israel hosts German fighterplanes in manouver drills

Israel currently holds the latest iteration of Blue Flag, the biggest air manouver ever held in Israel (Blue Flag is done twice a year in Israel). A former enemy, India, now participates as an ally, while a former false ally, Turkey, is no more part of it.

What is historically remarkable: four German Eurofighters participate as well. The last time german combat planes flew over the socalled Holy Land, was almost a century ago, it were recconnaissance planes of the Royal Bavarian air force (yes, something like this indeed has existed) who shot their first aerial photographies of Palestine.

In fact, German-Israeli military contacts and German personnnel training in Israel, are not new, but until now have been run in the hidden. That they now do it openly under the eyes of the world, is a message - as is the participation of India and the absence of Turkey. Political weights and foci have been shifting, thanks to Islamic fascism threatening everybody, India, Israel and Europe as well.

Contingents from 8 other states are currently guest of the IAF.
