Default A Strong Message From The Head Of The USAF Academy...

If you want to see what real leadership is like, its in the above clip...

If you want to see what moral leadership is like, its in the above clip...

If you want to see what humane leadership is like, its in the above clip...

If you want to see what decisive leadership is like, its in the above clip...

Its too bad those who currently claim to be our leader(s) don't follow the same principles or have the moral foundation of Lt. General Silveria; if this man ever ran for office, I know I'd be very interested in voting for him...

... Hmm..., I wonder what the Oval Office did today?...

So strong he said it twice.

Damn good speech though, a shame that it needed to be said, but good that it was.

Mr Farage would not agree.

The speech is good, but is it good enough? And are there enough to think that way? Again, good speech, but bad this has even to be said aloud. Such thinking is not self-evident.

Thank you for posting.

It was a stupid public display of damage control if you ask me.

The prep school where this occurred is on the same base but literally has nothing to do with the cadets or staff of the Air Force Academy. It is a completely different entity. It is a bunch of mostly minority civilian students that are hoping to get into the academy and don't have the grades for it.

So apparently some 17 year old prep school student anonymously writes a racial expletive on some of his fellow students doors and the Commandant feels the need to berate cadets and staff of a different school for his actions.

Talk about missing the target audience! With aim like that maybe that's why the Commandant was flying a desk instead of a bomber. The next time it happens maybe the Commandant should go find some Air Force WW2 veterans and yell at them. Using those old Gents (mostly white!) ought to work just as well.

I must agree with August, it is a reaction overdone. I do not know the institutional and organizational background like August explained, but to me it appeared to be an overreaction, that added meaning to the original offence and blew it up in size by this, it might be more illustrating for the climate of super-dooper political correctness and every-lobbygroup-it's-special-interest-else-witchhunt!-occuring policy that rules so many branches of modern society by now. Where disciplinary measures were needed, they should have been taken care for, but not this public. To me, it runs the danger of causing right the opposite of the desired effect this way. You do not blow up a mosquito until it has the size of an elephant. It reminds me negatively a bit of some of the excessive political correctness campaigns that German defence miniprincess Ursula von der Leyen is haunting the Bundeswehr with recently, pissing the troops and officer corps big time by that and damaging the BW as an institution more than protecting or serving it. I also did not find that speech sensationally appealing. If I were one of those he adressed it with, I would have shrug my shoulders, turn, and carry on with my tasks of the day, unimpressed. Too much air, too much pathos with that cellphone trick. But then, it simply meets the Zeitgeist to talk like this. So many seem to do it at every opportunity these days.

I could even imagine that he saw the need of demonstrating to higher ranks in the bureaucratic hierarchy how very much he was caring for doing the politically correct after that original incident, which again would -if true - illustrate the questionable priorities many instittuions these days are getting loaded with.

Another possibility I could imagine is that he wanted to express a personal opposition to the Donald's behaviour over certain events in the not so distant past. Ther format could again be questioned, even if the cause appears as noble.

Given the events of the past year, I'm going to go with no. Sadly I don't think words are going to work any more. It's a nice thought though.

That is exactly what he did. He can't make that speech to civilian students so he gathered up a bunch of cadets and got himself filmed giving them the business.

For what purpose would a high ranking officer risk his career to bad mouth his commander in chief?

I, uh, what?

I'm a former Army medic and a black guy in my late 40's. He started off great but when he got to Ferguson...

Why didn't he mention that #BLM is a racist and anti-cop (and anti-military) organization that's based on lies? Michael Brown's death was ruled as justified by a court-appointed coroner and the "Hands up, Don't Shoot" meme that CNN dolts promoted should have been dismissed immediately.

This is nothing more than the cultural brainwash that's pushed by the media and our soldiers in uniform, at the behest of our previous administration, instead of facts.

But let's just forget the riots that result in the burning of American flags and the smashing of storefronts. We should all just express our opinions by looting Mom and Pop shops and burning down pharmacies in our own struggling neighborhoods.

Racism is evil. Period. And that includes black racists on MSNBC who tell you that black racism doesn't exist.

Conscience. Idealism. Honour. I can imagine many motives. Whether one of them is correct or not, I cannot say, I do not know the man and have noi idea of how his career went along so far.

Currently reading "The culture of war" once again. From that perspectives' book, a lot could be said on this video, and possible backgrounds - and the general climate in the armed forces that it seems to reveal.

And its not just there, but the education sector, schools, universities, as well, the "micro aggressions" much is talked about, the mimosa-sensibility that many claim for themselves. And its not just America, its over here in Europe and Germany as well, believe me.

What a difference to Sparta's agoge ! We can only hope we never get attacked by an enemy with a real warrior'S grim mindset. Our civilised concerns and cares hardly could be compensated for with technology alone. And history shows us how pretty much in vein that hope is. Its a bet for more party-time, not more.

Skybird my nations president does enough things on his own without trying to read him into every potential situation. Nothing that general said is a bash on Trump. Why try to make it about him?

Trumps reaction to a certain racism-related issue short time ago that rose plenty of controversy, was a disgrace for the nation, and the office of the president, and Trump himself. This officers' speech and Trumps lack of reaction just weeks ago, could not be more apart. Every man of honour serving in uniform no doubt must swallow hard when seeing his superior commander behaving like this.

Interesting update to the story:

Quote:
A black student wrote those racist messages that shook the Air Force Academy, school says

........

But on Tuesday, the school made a jolting announcement. The person responsible for the racist messages, the academy said, was, in fact, one of the cadet candidates who reported being targeted by them.
“The individual admitted responsibility and this was validated by the investigation,” academy spokesman Lt. Col. Allen Herritage said in a statement to the Associated Press, adding: “Racism has no place at the academy, in any shape or form.”
The cadet candidate accused of crafting the messages was not identified, but the Colorado Springs Gazette reported that the individual is no longer enrolled at the school. Sources also told the Gazette the cadet candidate “committed the act in a bizarre bid to get out of trouble he faced at the school for other misconduct,” the newspaper reported.
But hey Trump got some bad press so it's all good right?
