It's always great to see these aircraft restored and flying once again.

Some great photos here: http://www.airic.ca/html/bf109e.html
What is astonishing is that this is a genuine veteran of the Battle of Britain and the personal aircraft of one of the Luftwaffe's best known aces (Marseille) flying again.

Thanks for posting! I like those birds, good to see that at least some are being restored and even brought to flying condition. Not much left, and this one rescued from a swamp in Russia.. I do not dare to think of all that had to be done to make it fly again.
In Hannover there is the "Luftfahrtmuseum Laatzen", the (now diseased) founder pulled a Junkers 52/3m from this lake in Norway and had it restored, but compared to the 109 this one was in fairly good condition.

Some info in german about how to start, land and fly the 109 (this is another one though, a G4). May also come in handy for CoD, or IL2 Stalingrad

Great pictures of the bf-109. I posted a while back about an authentic Mitsubishi A6M zero that had been restored and flying once again. Thanks for posting the link to the pictures. ![]() |

Great pics and links!
![]() Looking at the 109 it strikes me how accurate the description, given by pilots who got to fly both the 109 and the spit, seems to have been. You would climb into a spit, you would wear a 109. That cockpit was no ballroom. |
